How is America’s freedom a type and shadow of the freedom Jesus won for the world? America’s forefather’s broke free from the control of another nation for its own selfish gain so too Jesus set us free from the self-serving control of Satan in our lives. Freedom for both came at the high price of sacrifice…even unto death.
Adam and Eve received from God what Satan wanted for himself so he set out to draw them into a lie so they would hand over to him their God-given authority and identity. They took themselves out of union with God allowing themselves to be controlled by another. Satan was now in control of man and the earth – which is why he could offer it all to Jesus in the wilderness.
But Jesus didn’t allow Himself to be controlled by none other. His choice to only be controlled by God won victory for all mankind. True freedom can only come through Jesus.
Those who seek to control do not understand or live in Jesus Christ’s freedom. If they did there would be no desire to take another’s freedom that Jesus died for.
Our founding father’s understood that freedom Jesus won for mankind and chose to not live under someone dictating how they should live before God. They came to the new world to have freedom to worship God in their own way. But it was just a matter of time the freedom they found was bombarded by control for someone else’s gain.
Our forefather’s stood and fought bravely against an organized nation…they sacrificed much but gained their freedom.
Today we again find ourselves being smothered by the tyranny of still yet another governments control – sadly its our own! But we have complete victory! How do I know? Because we have Jesus’ freedom on our side; the true freedom our nation was founded upon. Jesus has trumped any plan of Satan to steal our freedom!
But yet, even though we have Jesus’ freedom we each must be willing to pay the costly price for freedom. We too, like Jesus and our forefather’s, must bravely stand against that which steals freedom.
O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation.
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
(Last verse of Star Spangled Banner).
That verse says it all. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
